In celebration of Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day), the Korean Folk Village will be holding its annual Hangawi Festival from August 30 to September 14, 2014.
The festival features a wide range of events including traditional performances, folk games, a ritual called seongju-gosa (newly harvested rice is put in seongjudanji (a bowl) to give thanks for good harvest), and other activities for visitors to experience some of Korea’s customs. There will also be songpyeon (half-moon-shaped rice cake), baked beans, and other hands-on activities.
